Early Valentine's Dinner

So this year Jon has an evening math class every Tuesday, well guess what? Valentine's day is on Tuesday... So Jon took us out to eat last night for a family dinner at Texas Roadhouse! It was so good!

Baby Practice

I know Tim still doesn't understand that Mommy is going to be having a baby, but it's still fun for him to pat my belly saying, "Hi baby!" Of course he then proceeds to find my belly button, but it's still cute.

Well lately we've been practicing holding the baby :)

Tim has made this little baby panda robot the honorary baby. This is him "Burping" the baby.

His favorite thing to do is rock the baby side to side. I can't wait to see how he will act with the real thing!

By the way we are thinking of using Michael Vincent Lee Zabriskie for the name!

Late Night Snack Run

Last night after dinner of yummy Spaghetti and Meatballs, my mom sent us pictures of stuffed Strawberry cheese cake! She said " Come and get it!"

So we did! Yup 7:30 at night we packed into the car and headed to Pleasant Grove, just for these stuffed strawberries.

Tim wanted the whole plate! But so did Jon :)

Needless to say we all had a good laugh and a yummy dessert!

Tim found one of my old prenatal vitamin bottles and didn't want to let it go! So I let him play with it while I was picking up Jon.

Travel Jello

Jon has to drive to Ogden today for a school thing with UVU. Well we don't have the money to buy a bunch of snacks and junk food for him to eat on his way home tonight, which will be around mid-night...

So I searched through my pantry to find what I could make for him.

Muffins would of course work for a while, but it's Jon... They'll be gone way before he gets home!

So I saw a box of jello! Jello just sounded good! But how to make jello travel friendly? Muffin tins!!!

So here's what I did! Make the Jello as the box directs you to.

You will need Muffin tins not paper or plastic, but metal tins. Place them in the muffin pan and gently pour the Jello liquid into the muffin foil until it is about halfway full, you don't want to go past two-thirds or eating it will be more difficult.

Note: Make sure you don't spill over the edges of the tin, because the jello will slip between the muffin cups and the pan making the eating process sticky.

Put the Jello in the fridge until they are set or until you are ready to hit the road!

The reason for the foil cups is it will help keep the jello cool for longer!

To actually eat the jello you will need to slowly flip the tin foil inside out, don't worry the jello will stick to the cup!

For toddlers they don't exactly get the idea of needing to suck the jello off, so you may just want to give them slirps at a time and if they don't try to eat the cup, they can suck the rest of the jello off the tin, my son loved it!

Just a little confused

I would recommend practicing this with younger kids out of the car, so you can have a pleasant ride, instead of a messy child.

And it's so much fun for adults!

Friday we went for our 21 Week ultrasound!!! The baby's heart is beating wonderfully, the brain is forming the way it needs to, the baby weighs about 13 oz and he is a HE!

We are so excited to have another little boy in our home! Oh little baby we love you so much!

Well Tim kinda shoved that into gear this morning... He was laying under the blanket again and fell backwards, pulling the blanket down with him, in turn pulling the shelf on top of him...

After a little bit of crying and me shaking like crazy, Tim was back to playing in the movies... What a guy!

For our date night Jon took me to Nickle City! Yes High School dates are still fun when you're adults!!!

We won 221 Tickets and got Tim a Tiger and we got an airhead!

After we grabbed Tim from our neighbors we ate French Bakery and played with a paper towel trumpet!!!

Yes I know these pictures are out of order, but it's kind of hard to blog with a one year old on your lap. This was our favorite game!!! You got to shoot down wwII airplanes from the simulator!!! I got a little crazy, but that's why I don't play games, I scream and freak out, "Don't Shoot Me!!!" or "I can't see!!!!"

I had to get at least one picture with me in it, or Jon gets mad.

A Day of Silliness Really

Today has been kind of silly. Not a whole lot has been accomplished except having fun with Tim and eating. I did vacuum the front room though!!!

Tim loves to take my Dr. Pepper, yes it's caffeine free, don't worry! So I put some in his sippy cup and he just lounged enjoying a bit of bubbly.

I finally made Grandma Jo's Chex Mix!!!! I am so happy right now!

Tim was pushing his little scooter around like a lawnmower! I loved it!

I am 19 Weeks today!!! It's kind of hard to take a good belly picture in a hoodie, but it's better than in my "G's" as Jon calls them.

Since the oven was hot I decided to make a frozen Pizza. This is not uncommon to see on our stove, I just love them :)

I can't wait to go on a date night with Jon tonight! I will try to take some pictures :)

A Rough One...

Today has not been the greatest of days, in fact it's been pretty horrible... Unfortunately it didn't start with this morning, but last night.
Last night I was feeling really guilty about being lazy and beating myself up about a bunch of crap that didn't matter. My hormones kicked in and I was just crying and crying. I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband who just held me and wiped away my tears until I fell asleep.
I woke up this morning around 4:30 having to pee, like normal pregnant women. My head started hurting so bad, I assume from all the crying last night... I couldn't go back to sleep... Finally around 6:00 I start to dose off, but then Jon's alarm goes off for us to take him to school, Tim wakes up screaming from coughing, and I start crying...again...
I finally have the chance to go to sleep a little after 7, but I couldn't get my brain to shut up for a long time! Finally fall asleep, Tim wakes up at 9, we eat breakfast, and go to pick up Jon from school to take him to work. I hadn't left the parking lot at Jon's work yet, luckily, and I get a phone call from my dad.
"Kristen I need you to be strong, but..."
The worst I could think of is Target finally had to be put down, because he is so old. I was wrong. Horribly wrong.
One of my friends, a student at Mountain View, had just ended his life. Needless to say I was devastated, crying for a good reason this time. I am so grateful that Jon felt the need to look out the door to see if I was okay, because there was no way I could have driven home. Jon's wonderful boss let him be with me, to be my strength. I needed him, I needed to feel his love, his arms wrapped around me, once again I needed him to wipe away my tears.
I couldn't be stuck in the gloom, so we took Tim to the park, mostly I didn't want him to worry about why mommy was so sad. Tim ran around the playground, another blessing, it was empty. Tim at the playground will make anyone smile.
We then took lunch to Dad and Kevin, Kev was really close friends with this kid. I am so proud of how strong Kevin was for his friends. I was amazed at how well the kids at the high school were actually doing, there were tears, puffy faces, lots of hugs, but they were strong. You could really tell that he was loved.
I won't say his name, for the sake of those who don't know yet, and deserve to find out in person, not via blog, but You really are loved, and we will miss you. May you find the peace and happiness you need.

Holy cow these four months have gone by so fast! I am at the end of my fourth month and I can feel the baby moving more and more everyday! I can't wait for Jon and Tim to be able to feel the baby! We have a date set for the ultrasound to find out if it is a boy or a girl, Feb 3rd! We are still thinking and hoping for a girl, but I will not complain if we have another boy to rough around with Tim :)

Sometimes I get really down on myself. I look around our apartment and see the mess, I feel like a horrible example as a mother. How can I expect my children to keep their rooms clean, when I can't even keep mine and the rest of the house clean. I am embarrassed when my family comes over and sees how slack I have been with the chores. It's even worse when they start doing some of them for me. I push myself down further and further looking at all the mistakes I have done and look at the life I am setting out for our family.
I am so grateful for my Heavenly Father who answers prayers. I asked for strength and this was the answer he gave me:

Never Give Up

In our journey on earth, we discover that life is made up of challenges—they just differ from one person to another. We are success-oriented, striving to become “wonder women” and “super men.” Any hint of failurecan cause panic, even despair. Who among us cannot remember moments of failure?

One such moment came to me as a young basketball player. The game was close—hotly contested—when the coach called me from the bench to run a key play. For some reason which I shall never understand, I took the pass and dribbled the ball right through the opposing team. I jumped high toward the basket; and, as the basketball left my fingertips, I came to the abrupt realization that I was shooting for the wrong basket. I offered the shortest prayer I have ever spoken: “Dear Father, don’t let that ball go in.” My prayer was answered, but my ordeal was just beginning. I heard a loud cheer erupt from the adoring fans: “We want Monson, we want Monson, we want Monson … OUT!” The coach obliged.

Not long ago I read about an incident that occurred in the life of U.S. President Harry S. Truman after he had retired and was back in Independence, Missouri. He was at Truman Library, talking with some elementary school students and answering their questions. Finally, a question came from an owlish little boy. “Mr. President,” he said, “was you popular when you was a boy?” The President looked at the boy and answered, “Why, no. I was never popular. The popular boys were the ones who were good at games and had big, tight fists. I was never like that. Without my glasses I was blind as a bat, and to tell the truth, I was kind of a sissy.” The little boy started to applaud, and then everyone else did, too (Vital Speeches, Feb. 1983, p. 6).

Our responsibility is to rise from mediocrity to competence, from failureto achievement. Our task is to become our best selves. One of God’s greatest gifts to us is the joy of trying again, for no failure ever need be final.

In 1902, the poetry editor of the Atlantic Monthly returned a sheaf of poems to a 28-year-old poet with this curt note: “Our magazine has no room for your vigorous verse.” The poet was Robert Frost. In 1894, the rhetoric teacher at Harrow in England wrote on a 16-year-old’s report card, “A conspicuous lack of success.” The 16-year-old was Winston Churchill.

U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt said, “It is not the critic who counts, not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena” (The American Treasury: 1455–1955, ed. Clifton Fadiman, New York: Harper & Brothers, 1955, p. 689).

We know men and women can change—and change for the better. No more vivid example is recorded than the life of Saul of Tarsus. The sacred record reveals that Saul threatened the disciples of the Lord. Then came that light from heaven and the voice saying unto him: “Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

“And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest” (Acts 9:4–5).

Saul’s answer is a model for each of us: “Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?” (Acts 9:6). Saul the persecutor became Paul the proselyter. Night had turned to day. Darkness had yielded to light.

Simon Peter, that fisherman who left his nets and followed the Lord, had his time of struggle. He had been weak and fearful and had denied his Lord with an oath. Then there came change. Never again would he deny or desert his Lord. He found his place in the kingdom of God.

We have the example of Alma the Younger, who turned his back on sinful practices and wasteful ways. Conversion came. He became an exponent of truth. His tender words of counsel to his sons Helaman and Corianton are literary classics. To Helaman: “O, remember, my son, and learn wisdom in thy youth; yea, learn in thy youth to keep the commandments of God” (Alma 37:35). To Corianton: “Suffer not yourself to be led away by any vain or foolish thing” (Alma 39:11).

Then and now, as President David O. McKay so consistently taught, the gospel of Jesus Christ can make bad men good and good men better, can alter human nature and change human lives.

In the private sanctuary of one’s own conscience lies that spirit, that determination to cast off the old person and to measure up to the stature of true potential. But the way is rugged, and the course is strenuous. So discovered John Helander from Goteborg, Sweden. John is handicapped, and it is difficult for him to coordinate his motions.

At a youth conference in Kungsbacka, Sweden, John took part in a 1,500-meter running race. He had no chance to win. Rather, his was the opportunity to be humiliated, mocked, derided, scorned. Perhaps John remembered another who lived long ago and far away. Wasn’t He mocked? Wasn’t He derided? Wasn’t He scorned? But He prevailed. He won His race. Maybe John could win his.

What a race it was. Struggling, surging, pressing, the runners bolted far beyond John. There was wonderment among the spectators. Who is this runner who lags so far behind? The participants on their second lap of this two-lap race passed John while he was but halfway through the first lap. Tension mounted as the runners pressed toward the tape. Who would win? Who would place second? Then came the final burst of speed; the tape was broken. The crowd cheered; the winner was proclaimed.

The race was over—or was it? Who is this contestant who continues to run when the race is ended? He crosses the finish line on but his first lap. Doesn’t the foolish lad know he has lost? Ever onward he struggles, the only participant now on the track. This is his race. This must be his victory. No one among the vast throng of spectators leaves. Every eye is on this valiant runner. He makes the final turn and moves toward the finish line. There is awe; there is admiration. Every spectator sees himself running his own race of life. As John approaches the finish line, the audience, as one, rises to its feet. There is a loud applause of acclaim. Stumbling, falling, exhausted but victorious, John Helander breaks the newly tightened tape. (Officials are human beings, too.) The cheering echoes for miles. And just maybe, if the ear is carefully attuned, the Lord can be heard to say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant” (Matt. 25:21).

Each of us is a runner in the race of life. Comforting is the fact that there are many runners. Reassuring is the knowledge that our eternal Scorekeeper is understanding. Challenging is the truth that each must run. But you and I do not run alone. We have decided to let out the news!!! I'm Pregnant!! I am 12weeks along and am due June 15th! We originally thought I was 10 weeks, but I measured big and the ultra sound the baby was big enough for 12 weeks!
We are so excited to have this new child come and join our family! We have known for months that this baby has been waiting to join our family and I am so grateful that God re-veiled to us that this child is coming so we could be prepared for this excitement! I am so grateful for the support that our family and friends have given us!

Hey Everyone!!! Come to Mountain View High School's production of Children of Eden!!!

It is an amazing story of Adam and Eve and Noah and his family. It is not bible accurate, but it still is a great story about family. It is family friendly and fun to see all the animals for the little ones!!!

The dates are 17th,18th,19th, and 21st. The show starts at 7:00 PM and is $7 at the door!

I would come early so you can get a great seat! (In the past the show has sold out)

The school hired a professional Broadway actor, Dallyn Bayles to play Father. He does an amazing job and has taught the kids so much!!! So here's your chance to have a New York experience while supporting your community!

Mountain View High School's Address is 665 W Center Street in Orem, UT.

If you just drive east of i15 on Center Street it's the big white building. Park on the North East side of the school or you'll have to walk around outside in the cold.

Craziness

There is never a dull moment with the Criman/Zabriskie Family! On Saturday Kevin had a date and they made a box fort. So Sunday we brought some of the boxes up. Oh goodness it was crazy! I don't have all the pictures yet, but they will be posted soon!!! Here is a sneak peak of what happened:

Kevin made a Bathroom Fort. We always give him a hard time, because he doesn't shut the door when he is on the pot! So this was his solution :)

More will come once I get them off my Mom's camera!

Fall Fun

After our ride we went to my parents house and Tim loved playing in the yard!

There were so many leaves in the backyard from the weeping willow that you couldn't see the grass!!!

Dad broke out the Four Wheeler to put on the snow blade, so we took a little ride!

Sally wanted to go for a ride too, can you see her peeking through? So I took her out a little later!

Weekend Drive

Saturday we had to get out of the house! So of course we went up the canyon to look at our favorite place, Bridal Veil Falls. It was so cold outside that we just stayed in the car, but it was still super pretty!!!

The wind was blowing the water sideways!

Jon had to make a platform for his Scene Building class that is at least 12" Long and holds 50lbs. This trick was he could only use a 8x10" plank of wood and hardware. We laughed because it looked like a Nazi Tower with all the wires and stuff. His tower held 100lbs!!! YAY JON!!!

A couple of weeks ago Jon surprised me and took me to Hobby Lobby to look at Christmas stuff. For those of you who don't know, Jon is very against Christmas before Thanksgiving, so this was a big deal!!! I had a lot of fun looking at all the Christmas gift ideas!

Why Are We So Stupid?

Lately Jon and I have been really stupid! We have been staying up way too late watching movies from Netflix... But now Tim is wanting to go to sleep earlier and waking up earlier, so I can't get the sleep that I am needing to get through the day.

I don't know how Jon is doing it, having to be at work by 6:30, because I am dying! I try to nap during the day, but that's when noises start to happen like a lawn mower or my thoughts just won't shut up!

I love spending as much time as possible with my husband, but jeez we've been really dumb.

Now that I'm thinking about it, we used to stay up a lot later when we were dating. Things really change when you get married and have a child.

This weekend Mama and Papa Z surprised us and came down last minute to come down to Tim's birthday party!

It was so much fun! We went to Provo Beach Resort down in the River woods. Uncle Chris and Aunt Lisa met us there!

Tim loved playing on the DDR game!!!

They also have a fun little toddler land! Tim climbed and ran around having a blast!

We also went on their little Merry-Go-Round! It was so fun!

Well ladies and gents our little baby is no longer a little baby. He is now a 1 year old!!! Wednesday was Tim's birthday!!! I took pictures and pictures during Tim's birthday. I hope I can also download the videos because that's all we did in the evening.

Good Morning Birthday Boy

I made Tim a birthday breakfast. As you can tell he wasn't very interested in the eggs, but ate the doughnut.

For some fun we went and played outside!!!

The swings were wet so I almost didn't let Tim swind, but who could resist those eyes? I wiped it down as best I could.

When we got back to the apartment Tim saw the cup I use to water the plants. He grabbed the cup and walked to the hose, pointed to the faucet so I turned it on, he filled the cup with water, pointed back at the faucet so I could turn it off. He walked to the flowers and shook the water to water the plants and tree. I was so proud!

After playing outside we went inside for lunch. Tim loves chicken nuggets!!!

He finally likes ketchup!!!

After Jon got home we opened some of his gifts! Michelle Jarvis gave him his first Tool box! H loves them!!!

Jon made us Chili Dogs for dinner, boy was that a mess

Of course Tim had his own little cake that he mashed to pieces!

He loved licking the frosting off his fingers!

Bath time was a must! Tim loved playing with his new bath toys!!!

Once bath time was over we headed to Kevin's last Football Game with Mountain View High School.

It was senior's night! Kevin was honored with the rest of the team's senior players! Mom was able to be up there with them! Mom is in the gray hoodie holding the white shirt on her arm.

Kevin's friends have been so supportive throughout the season!!!

Yesterday we got Tim's first Tricycle! It doesn't have peddles so he can scoot around! It's so fun!

Other Random Adventures

We searched through my parents costume trunk to find Tim a costume. He was either too big or too small for all but one costume.

Last Saturday we cleaned the church. Tim liked to push the big garbage can around :)

Kevin texted me late one night while we were getting ready to go to bed. This was Jon's reaction hehehe
Kevin would watch Tim a lot while I helped with Shakespeare. There were so many times I would walk down the hall holding Tim and Kids would say, "Hi Tim!" and I didn't even know them!
Jon has a Ron Stoppable fridge magnet and Tim loves him!!!
Tim's already steeling money out of my wallet.
Tim got a package in the mail from Michelle Jarvis. I think he was more excited about the box!
Tim has figured out how to crawl into the bathtub...

We have a pretty good life don't you think? I sure do!

Breakfast Pizza

Friday Jon sent me a text telling me to make sure Tim and I are ready to go with jackets by the time he gets home from work. I had no idea what he had planned.

Next we went to the Soldier's Memorial in the PG Cemetary

It is a beautiful tribute to our local fallen soldiers

After the memorial we went to Kid to Kid to get Tim's birthday presents and then to Subway to get us all some dinner. Tim had his first subway sandwich and apples. He actually said apples!!! Jon and Tim made the children of Eden poster :)

Jon and I went to my parents house expecting to have a visit with my family. Once we got there, Kyle was getting ready for Young Men's and my mom was getting ready to head to Kevin's football game. Last minute we decided to go to the game with Mom.

We had our own tailgate party at the gas station

Bruins won!!!! It was a great game!!! Really fun to watch a great game with the Family!!!
