Trip to Casper

Last weekend we went to Casper to visit our family and friends. We also got to get Tim a new carseat for Tim. He has out grown his old one.
It was a lot of fun to see everyone and watch Allen's play, The Foreigner

Closed In

At the beginning of this year I made the goal to go for a walk everyday around One. That way during the winter it wouldn't be too cold for Tim to be outside and I'll be home if Jon stops by for lunch. Well I was doing great up until a couple weeks ago when I was on our walk and couldn't figure out why the stroller kept turning when I didn't want it to. Much to my dismay, our stroller has a flat... And I would usually be able to go and buy a new tire, but once again we had another trial.
When Jon received his last pay check we lost most of it. Jon believes a lady behind him in a line at Walmart took it. I had hoped and prayed that it had fallen out of his back pocket and that someone would turn it in, but my faith in the goodness of people was dashed. So we have had to be very careful with our money these last few weeks.
Anyway as many of you know, Tim is a very big boy, so I can't just go walking around carrying Tim in my arms or my arms would fall off. I also have a little back pack carrier thing, but it's the type of carrier that you need two people to clip the baby in...
Needless to say I am feeling closed in.
I am so glad Jon gets paid every two weeks and not once a month. My tire is coming soon!!!

A Test of Patience

Today we had our first official lesson with our new twelve year old Sunday School class... We decided that I would teach the lesson this week, which was on Choosing to Follow Christ and how we chose in the Pre-mortal existence. Of course the lesson in the manual is not very long at all so I had to do a lot of lengthening to fill the forty five minutes.
Anyway, we get into class and I ask, as usual, if they had any questions from the past week; they ignore me and didn't answer, some just carried on their conversations. Jon and I get the kids attention and I just carry on with the lesson.
Basically I would have to stop the lesson several times, because someone was talking or would ask a question that wasn't relevant to what we were talking about.
I think what tested my patience the most was when one of the boys in our class said,"I want to meet a 100 year old Jew just so I can make fun of what happened with Hitler." It took all my might to not yell at him and tell him off. I couldn't even give him an answer like, "We need to respect all religions." Or, "We need to be sympathetic, because our people went through the same thing almost 200 years ago when the pioneers were kicked out of their homes."
No I couldn't even say that. All I could do is look at him with my well practiced, that is not appropriate, look.
I know that I need to love these kids and I will respect them. All I can do is pray that I can help them. Because I know that we have been called to this class for a reason, I just pray that that reason will be fulfilled and not blocked by my impatience.
God bless our children.

What a Start for the New Year....

Well I was really excited for this new year! I'm not going to be pregnant and able to get things done! *Knock on wood* I'm going to enjoy being with my wonderful son and husband. I've decided to actually accept that I can have my dream of living on a ranch and raise cattle, so next school year I hope to study on how to successfully run a ranch.
Yup, my new year is going to be great! Well this last Monday I had a big scare. I was having a super dream about being a super hero and then I wake up to a voice saying, "Wake up mom!!!" I answer, "What is it Tim?" Instantly I become alert! I smell smoke! My heart pounding I run into the front room, Tim is sleeping soundly. F.Y.I Tim is only 11 weeks. I look in the kitchen, nothing. I look in the laundry/furnace room, nothing. The lamp's not smoking, the wax smell good thingy is fine, I just couldn't find the source of the smoke smell. Eventually the smell went away. And of course once that happen's I crawl back into bed and Tim wakes up and wants to eat.
I know that story is very anti climatic, my dad says that it probably came from outside.
Well this morning Jon leaves for work and about a half and hour later I wake up to Tim wanting to eat. So I get up and am rocking him and feeding him. Then I hear a door shaking, like someone couldn't open a door. At first I look behind me to see if it was the door behind me, which connects our apartment to our landlady's house, but that wasn't it. Then I think Jon might be back and not able to open the door, but of course he would tell me if he was coming back home. Then I realize someone is trying to break into our home. I put Tim down into his crib and go into our room to grab my phone, to call 911. I had to turn on the light, and that's when the door stopped shaking. I assume the person saw the light and bolted. Then I grabbed a knife from the kitchen and looked outside, but no one was there.
So I called Jon and he came back from work. He checked on Norma and she was fine. Then when Jon left, I went to my parents, just to get away. Jon called the police to let them know and be alert for the area. Needless to say, I'm bringing Tessa, our dog, home for a while.
Anyway that is my great start to the new year....

Behind

So I've been putting off posting anything on our blog, because I wanted to post pictures of our ultra sounds of Timothy, by the way that's what we're naming the baby, but I keep forgetting to scan them onto the computer. And now I have pictures built up from the whole summer... So this week I have a goal of finishing all my collages and posting them. As well as sanding the baby's changing table and cleaning our room.
Okay now that this is all written down I'll get all this done... If the baby allows...
