Well I was really excited for this new year! I'm not going to be pregnant and able to get things done! *Knock on wood* I'm going to enjoy being with my wonderful son and husband. I've decided to actually accept that I can have my dream of living on a ranch and raise cattle, so next school year I hope to study on how to successfully run a ranch.
Yup, my new year is going to be great! Well this last Monday I had a big scare. I was having a super dream about being a super hero and then I wake up to a voice saying, "Wake up mom!!!" I answer, "What is it Tim?" Instantly I become alert! I smell smoke! My heart pounding I run into the front room, Tim is sleeping soundly. F.Y.I Tim is only 11 weeks. I look in the kitchen, nothing. I look in the laundry/furnace room, nothing. The lamp's not smoking, the wax smell good thingy is fine, I just couldn't find the source of the smoke smell. Eventually the smell went away. And of course once that happen's I crawl back into bed and Tim wakes up and wants to eat.
I know that story is very anti climatic, my dad says that it probably came from outside.
Well this morning Jon leaves for work and about a half and hour later I wake up to Tim wanting to eat. So I get up and am rocking him and feeding him. Then I hear a door shaking, like someone couldn't open a door. At first I look behind me to see if it was the door behind me, which connects our apartment to our landlady's house, but that wasn't it. Then I think Jon might be back and not able to open the door, but of course he would tell me if he was coming back home. Then I realize someone is trying to break into our home. I put Tim down into his crib and go into our room to grab my phone, to call 911. I had to turn on the light, and that's when the door stopped shaking. I assume the person saw the light and bolted. Then I grabbed a knife from the kitchen and looked outside, but no one was there.
So I called Jon and he came back from work. He checked on Norma and she was fine. Then when Jon left, I went to my parents, just to get away. Jon called the police to let them know and be alert for the area. Needless to say, I'm bringing Tessa, our dog, home for a while.
Anyway that is my great start to the new year....
